Technology Policy Capstone

This capstone serves as the culminating course for the Master of Technology Policy program, enabling students to integrate and apply policy analysis skills to an emerging technology issue. Students individually design and scope a research or policy project, guided by RAND subject matter experts. The course emphasizes effective communication of research to diverse policy audiences through written, oral, and media-based formats. Students learn how to interact with Capitol Hill in the policy space, how to write an op-ed and interact with the media, among other topics.

By the end of the course, students produce a written paper and oral presentation on their research topic demonstrating their capacity to translate technical insight into actionable policy recommendations.
