Application Process: Students submit only one application, including a statement of interest that addresses their interest in both degree programs.

Master of National Security Policy and Technology Policy

Combine expertise in national security and technology policy. Prepare for impactful roles at the intersection of these critical fields.

Degrees: Master of National Security Policy and Master of Technology Policy

Duration: 5 quarters (approximately 1.5 years, full-time); part-time option available

Total Units: 20 (4-unit reduction)

Capstone: Complete a joint capstone project integrating national security and technology policy

M.Phil. in Policy Analysis and Master of National Security Policy

Gain advanced policy analysis skills and deep knowledge of national security. OJT provides practical experience working on current policy projects.

Degrees: Master of Philosophy in Policy Analysis (M.Phil.) and Master of National Security Policy

Duration: 8 quarters (approximately 2.5 years, full-time only)

Total Units: 24 (6-unit reduction)

Capstone: Complete a capstone project for the Master of National Security Policy degree

On-the-Job Training (OJT): Participate in hands-on, real-world policy research with RAND researchers

MPhil in Policy Analysis and Master of Technology Policy

Develop strong analytical skills and specialize in technology policy. OJT offers direct experience addressing contemporary technology policy challenges.

Degrees: Master of Philosophy in Policy Analysis (M.Phil.) and Master of Technology Policy

Duration: 8 quarters (approximately 2.5 years, full-time only)

Total Units: 24 (6-unit reduction)

Capstone: Complete a capstone project for the Master of Technology Policy degree
