This course provides a foundation in statistical methods essential for policy analysis and quantitative research. Students study probability distributions, sampling and estimation techniques, and approaches for using data samples to draw empirical inferences about population parameters.

The course then introduces linear regression, emphasizing interpretation, model specification, and application to real‑world data.
