RAND Research in Action

This course brings RAND researchers into the classroom to share their work directly with students in the Master of National Security Policy, Master of Technology Policy, and Master of Policy Analysis programs. It provides structured exposure to the research enterprise that is central to the RAND School's educational model. Throughout the quarter, RAND researchers will present ongoing or recently completed projects, discussing not only their findings but also how the research question was framed, how the client relationship shaped the work, what methodological trade-offs were made, and how results were communicated to decision-makers. Students will engage each speaker through advance preparation (response papers with questions) and in-class dialogue, building an understanding of how analysis becomes influence in the real world.
