Leadership in the Public Context

This course examines the nature of leadership in the public sector and how it differs fundamentally from leadership in private enterprise. Students explore the roles, challenges, and ethical dimensions of public leadership within complex policy environments.

Through self‑reflection, assessments, and applied exercises, the course encourages students to connect their personal strengths and values to effective leadership approaches in government and public service. By the end, students synthesize course concepts into a personal leadership statement, articulating how their individual perspectives inform their capacity to lead in policy and organizational contexts.
