Introduction to Technology Policy

This course introduces the foundations of technology policy design and implementation across governmental, private, and nonprofit sectors. Students examine institutional frameworks, stakeholder interactions, and decision processes that guide how societies balance innovation benefits with social and economic risks. Using case studies in artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and other emerging fields, the course analyzes patterns in technology governance and regulatory adaptation. By the end, students apply policy analysis approaches to assess current technology challenges and propose strategies for anticipating and managing future developments in science and innovation policy.
