Economic Development
This course examines the determinants and dynamics of economic development through both microeconomic and macroeconomic lenses. Students analyze key issues including technological innovation, poverty reduction, human capital formation, institutional quality, conflict, foreign aid, and globalization, as well as their interaction with industrial and environmental policies. The course integrates theoretical frameworks with empirical approaches to evaluate development outcomes and policy interventions. By the end, students critically assess recent research in the field, apply quantitative and qualitative methods to development analysis, and formulate policy-relevant insights that address challenges in global and regional economic growth.
