Dissertation Workshop

All Ph.D. students participate in a second-year Dissertation Workshop designed to guide them through the early stages of dissertation planning and proposal development. The workshop is also open to second-year M.Phil. students considering the Ph.D. program. The workshop helps students define research topics and questions, assess project feasibility, identify data sources and funding, and plan for committee selection.

Instruction includes step-by-step guidance on developing a proposal, selecting methodological approaches, evaluating dissertation formats, and learning from the experiences of faculty and peers. Limited to eight to twelve students per section, the workshop provides personalized support and consistent core content across groups, equipping students with a concrete roadmap for a successful dissertation launch.
