Cost Benefit and Cost Effectiveness Analysis
This course introduces two foundational tools for structuring policy problems and evaluating policy options: cost‑benefit analysis and cost‑effectiveness analysis. Students examine how these economic methods support efficient resource allocation in contexts where markets fail to function optimally.
The course covers techniques for monetizing costs and benefits, assessing non‑financial outcomes, and applying these frameworks to sectors such as public investment, regulation, and health policy. By the end, students develop the ability to apply systematic economic evaluation methods to inform evidence‑based policy decisions.
