Analytic Concentrations

Mastering Tools of the Trade

Through the RAND School's core courses, M.Phil. and Ph.D. students gain an understanding of the interrelationships among analytic techniques.

To develop a deeper understanding of these techniques, students may use choose elective courses that focus on one or more of the following analytic concentrations:

  • Economics
  • Qualitative Methods
  • Quantitative Methods and Modeling
  • Technology and Science Policy

Each concentration requires students to complete at least three units of coursework.

Analytic concentrations are listed on the student's transcript and provide a signal about knowledge and skills developed during the academic program.
