Complete Ph.D. Coursework During Your M.Phil.
As an M.Phil. student, you will engage in coursework that is intricately aligned with Ph.D. program requirements. The programs have the same core requirements, and you can choose electives that mirror the Ph.D. curriculum. By the end of your M.Phil., you will have completed most, if not all, of the Ph.D. coursework, laying a strong academic foundation for your future research endeavors.
Gain Practical Experience with On-the-Job Training (OJT)
The M.Phil. program includes an OJT component designed to enrich your research skills and provide real-world experience. This component includes being paid for your work on RAND research projects, allowing you to acquire hands-on experience while receiving compensation. Completing 100 days of OJT during your M.Phil. satisfies half of the Ph.D.'s 200-day requirement, giving you a head start on gaining practical experience.

In the second year of your M.Phil., you can tailor your coursework to align with potential dissertation topics. This prepares you to transition seamlessly into the PhD program, where your primary focus will be on conducting groundbreaking research and contributing new insights to your field.
